For the first time in the history of the Church, a Patriarch of Jerusalem has joined the College of Cardinals.
On the eve of the Synod, our future director Olivier Poquillon o.p., accompanied by brother Pablo Sicouly o.p., vicar of the Master of the Order, and brother Jean-Ariel Bauza-Salinas o.p., secretary general of the Order, were invited to surround his Beatitude Pierbattista Pizzaballa, who will be created Cardinal at the consistory of 30 September 2023.
The entire convent of Saint-Étienne and the École Biblique et Archéologique Française extend their congratulations to His Eminence, assure him of their communion and look forward to welcoming him back to Jerusalem.
