This is how friar Anthony Giambrone launched his welcoming speech to the new students and researchers of the École Biblique et Archéologique française for the year 2023-2024.

Our new director, friar Olivier Poquillon, being French spokesman for the Synode in Rome, friar Anthony Giambrone is interim director for the start of the school.

Anthony Giambrone is a Dominican from the Province of New York and he is the Vice-Director of the School. Since 2016, he is a professor at the École Biblique. His fields of research are the New Testament, the Gospels and the Acts of the Apostles, and Christology. In 2022 he published two books: A Quest for the Historical Christ: Scientia Christi and the Modern Studia of Jesus and One Sacrifice for Sins: A Biblical Theology of the Priesthood. This year, Brother Anthony Giambrone is teaching a course on the exegesis of the New Testament and the Dead Sea Scrolls, as well as a course on the Acts of the Apostles with Father Marie-Augustin Tavardon. He also offers doctoral support, particularly in the fields of the proto-evangels of John and the apocrypha.
