The École biblique has started its academic year, as it does every October 1st. Despite the situation in the country and a reduced number of students, a motivated team of teachers and researchers has returned to work, ready to serve the students. The teachers were given a single watchword: perseverance, flexibility, and creativity. Indeed, some courses have been transformed into sessions or tutorials, not only to meet student choices but also to free up time for the teachers. This year’s teaching is therefore highly personalized.
The new academic year began with a two-day orientation for newcomers to discover the four pillars of the École biblique: the Bible (with an introduction from Brother Anthony Giambrone), archaeology (with Brother Yunus Demirci), the library (with Brother Bernard Ntamak), and the Bible in its traditions (with Brother Olivier Catel). The introduction was both practical and inspiring: to discover the School’s mission in the land of the Bible, balancing text, fieldwork, and digital research.
Let’s pray that the general situation improves and that a few brave students will join the ranks of those already enrolled in the second semester. We need your spiritual and financial support; we are counting on you!
